Fall Gala 2010

Our 4th Annual fall Gala “Lighting the Path” was held at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center on Saturday, November 6, 2010.

It was an evening of hors d’oeuvres, fine wines, and desserts prepared by the Marx Brothers Cafe.  We visited with friends while listening to the music of Cat Coward & the Bad Dogz.

The evening included silent and live auctions and an opportunity to win money and prizes in a variety of raffles.

The theme for our fall gala, “Lighting the Path,” expresses our belief that Waldorf education sparks each child’s unique talents and inner strengths, lighting the path for a lifelong intellectual journey.

Gala News: Event Report

It is with gratitude for and pride in our community that we, the 2010 “Lighting the Path” Fall Gala Committee, write this final report.  Thank you, dear community, for your donations, your sponsorships, your time volunteering, as well as for your support, enthusiasm and participation.  The event was a huge success, thanks to our whole school—parents, students, teachers, staff, and board members.

It was a spectacular evening and generated a tremendous amount of excitement and support for our school. The event’s net (revenue minus expenses) totaled over $100,000, including about $39,000 donated specifically during “fund-an-item,” which focused on the school’s need for additional classroom space. We could not have achieved this without your generosity.

Of course, there is always room for improvement.  We’ve gotten valuable feedback already.  If you’ve already shared your insights and suggestions, thank you.  If you haven’t yet had a chance, please direct your comments to Carla at slabar@mtaonline.net.

Thank you for helping the Anchorage Waldorf School to light the path to a bright and prosperous future!
